Speculative narrative project illustrating Lottie Mills’ short story The Selkie from her collection Monstrum (2020). I wanted to push my use of materials, combining charcoal and gouache with my erasing technique to achieve dramatic lighting. This project was particularly profound to me and I aimed to express the emotion and atmosphere through my illustrative interpretation.
